I really didn't like either of Takashi Miike's Crows Zero films, but I was interested to see what the director of the sublime Blue Spring would bring to the franchise... well, better music for a start.

CROWS EXPLODE has a bit more substance than the Zeroes, and probably more style, but whilst it perhaps comes closer it still fails to answer the fundamental question - "Why should I care what happens to any of these people?"
