Pathaan (2023)

Gloriously stupid and bombastic actioner reminiscent of the director's previous film WAR (2019), or the same year's Saaho. Everything is over the top and ridiculous, and presented as dramatically as possible.

Shah Rukh Khan wasn't an obvious choice for the lead, more naturally suited to a Himbo like Hrithik Roshan or Tiger Shroff, but apparently he can do dumb hunk when needed... very well, in fact.

It's the sort of film that's built to get a crowded theatre bouncing in their seats, and watching it in your living room is never going to be able to capture that experience (well, I shouldn't assume, but it's definitely true of my living room), but its commitment to being entertaining is unwavering.

It's kind of like the pre-Craig reboot Bond films where nobody really knew why they were making them anymore, but people kept watching so they could afford to have some fun with them.
