Nice locations, but really really boring. Also, I wouldn't describe the protagonist as a warrior at all - more of a hired goon.
If you want a meditative movie about swordsmen in the desert, seek out Wong Kar Wai's Ashes Of Time. The Warrior is not worth your time, even as a Sunday afternoon sleeper.
The British DVD is nicely presented and contains nearly an hour of deleted scenes, with director's commentary. These are all very boring too.
