I believe this is the highest grossing Korean movie ever? I really can't understand why though.
It's a tale of 4 friends, spanning 15 years or so from their early naive childhoods to their disillusioned adulthoods. They each take different paths in life, though the movie mostly focusses on the two of them that become gangsters. It's a technically well made movie with very good acting... it's just kind of boring! The events that we get to see in their lives are mostly quite dull. The movie's palette of drab browns looks quite nice, but hardly livens things up any.
Can't for the life of me work out quite why so many people in Korea wanted to see it!
