A Top 10 Hong Kong classic

A CHINESE GHOST STORY is a perfect example of the Hong Kong everything-film. Comedy, action, horror, romance... what doesn't it have?
Ching Siu-Tung's graceful wirework and deliriously inventive action design, along with the aesthetic of deep blue filters, flowing white silk and skewed camera angles basically established the template for the 90's wuxia boom.
And Joey Wang, man... Joey Wang!
Happy to say that the Arrow UHD colour grading matches the HKL DVD - Blue Is Back, Baby! Along with some gorgeous golds. The filters mask the studio lighting so that the film is dark when its supposed to be, and it looks great in 4K HDR. Toss your bluray in the bin.
