If it were possible to make a bad swordplay film with Yueh Hua, Lo Wei would probably have managed it. DEATH VALLEY comes close at times, but the cast and action director Han-Ying Chieh compensate for Lo Wei's lack of any real skill or style as a director, and the result is a watchable but non-essential piece of 60's wu xia.
